Chapter 350
byChapter 350: Killing Chickens with a 152mm Howitzer!
“I say, are we making too big a deal out of this?”
“This time, the opponents are merely mortals, at best etheric worms.”
“The target is nothing but a long-abandoned world, devoid of Crystal Walls or any obstacles.”
Samikina’s subordinate officials advanced according to plan.
Yet they still harbored deep doubts.
Normally, handling threats in a Crystal Wall-less “Wasteland World” only required dispatching one or two idle operatives for a swift purge.
No mortal effort could ever rival a deity’s might.
But this operation was different.
Their master Samikina acted with extreme caution.
Her orders were clear: form a massive encirclement around this forsaken world, then tighten the noose from all directions. Crush the mortals’ survival space, herd them toward their core, and annihilate them utterly!
The so-called “core” was a sprouting, aberrant “Fantasy Tree.”
Though it resembled the Fantasy Tree of Subspace, its very nature opposed it.
Yet even if this mutated Fantasy Tree of Subspace was peculiar, such overwhelming force seemed excessive!
Especially since…
“Look!”
“That presence…”
“Such a colossal Divine Body! Such terrifying magical pressure!”
“He must be a core councilor!”
“Indeed—that’s Amon, the seventh seat of the Chaos Council!”
“Heavens! Why would one of his stature join this mission?!”
“And he appears… eager?”
“This is beyond strange. The scale is utterly disproportionate.”
Deploying two core councilors and countless subordinate officials to cleanse a ruined Bubble World—devoid of Crystal Walls, defended only by mortals…
This wasn’t using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
This was using a 152mm howitzer to kill a chicken.
…
“Groooowl—!”
To the subordinate officials, Amon seemed to roar as his powerful limbs hauled his massive Divine Body forward. His pace was deliberate, relentless, carrying him toward the dead world’s heart.
While other deities crept cautiously per Samikina’s orders, he charged straight ahead!
Amon’s eyes burned with focus, brimming with greed and fury.
He even seemed… unhinged.
It seemed he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
However, Samikina’s minions did not understand why the demon god Amon was so deranged.
"You are too young and naive."
"Haha…"
Samikina stood on a slightly elevated spot, directing and supervising this disproportionate operation using a 152mm howitzer.
She understood why Amon, esteemed as the seventh seat, was so invested in this already obliterated Bubble World and why he appeared so deranged.
"Because he is the original master of this Bubble World."
"Amon is Saraph."
"Unfortunately, Saraph is not Amon."
"And I am the one who started it all!"
Three thousand years ago, Saraph had attempted to unite the powers of various Bubble Worlds to combat chaos.
She poured her heart and soul into battle, even developing technology that could dissolve everything, including slowly breaking down the Fantasy Tree of Subspace, causing even the Chaos Demon God to find it troublesome.
But in the end, under the united assault of the core councilors, Saraph was brutally defeated.
Samikina also participated in that assault.
However, even in defeat, Saraph fought with all her might and defeated a core councilor, the then seventh seat of Chaos!
After being captured, Saraph remained resilient and refused to accept any corruption from the Chaos Council.
Though the seventh seat was the weakest by rank in the Core Council of Chaos, a vacancy had opened in the core meeting.
At that moment, Samikina devised a clever plan.
Since Saraph could not be corrupted, she would take a different approach.
She, along with Barbatos and Walifer, extracted Saraph’s power and reshaped a new deity.
That deity became the current Amon!
After his Soul was formed, Amon condensed a robust divine body for himself, officially becoming the seventh seat of the Core Council of Chaos!
Yet deep within, Amon always felt a sense of crisis about his self-identity.
"I extracted Saraph’s power and shaped a new god."
"But I stripped her consciousness from her Soul and released it, making her a pitiful ‘Deposed Noble.’"
"In other words, a lonely wandering spirit."
"This way, there existed two ‘Saraphs.’"
The existence of another "self" led Amon to possess great power, yet he fell into a crisis of identity, feeling like he was a fake, a counterfeit.
The psychological burden severely affected Amon’s strength, leaving him powerful yet unable to express it fully.
That was a weakness, a fatal inner demon, like Achilles’ heel.
This also became the best leverage for Barbatos and Samikina to control him.
To become "complete," to truly hold great power and look down upon the universe as a core councilor of chaos, he needed to completely eliminate his inner demon—Saraph!
“It was rare to have a chance to wipe out an inner demon, so Amon was naturally eager.”
“But my goal…”
“Boom—!”
She leaned against a Fantasy Tree of Subspace and stood up, looking far at the new bud standing proudly in the mud and chaos.
That new bud gave off a fresh feeling, constantly pushing back the chaos.
Samikina could feel the energy coming from that bud.
“This should be the Giant God’s creation.”
“It was so unique and so intricate; it must have meant a lot to the Giant God.”
“And inside, the Soul was Saraph!?”
“So, the Giant God must have had a Great Plan centered on ‘Saraph’; you must have put in a lot of work for it.”
“But what if I wreck it? What if I ruin your hard work?”
“Oh Giant God, facing your painstaking effort, I bet you’ll come this time!”
“The net was set; if he dared show up, there was only one end—death!”
—-
Samikina wasn’t wrong.
This time, Barbatos and Samikina planned to use Saraph to trick the “Giant God” into coming, then finish him off!
After past lessons, one core councilor of chaos wasn’t enough, so they used two!
Both Amon and Samikina had strong divine bodies; even alone, they weren’t scared of the Giant God, and two against one was better.
Plus, besides the two core councilors, Barbatos had called for help.
“Whoosh—!”
“Whoosh—!”
In the Endless Ether, two huge beasts cut through the waves, speeding toward the edge of the Chaos Swamp Realm.
They were fierce; though a bit smaller than grown Ether Dragons, they were tougher!
“Yikes—!”
In the sky, Gimmerly watched these two gods riding the waves and felt things looked bad.
“Bird Fish God.”
“Even if the name sounded lame, I had to admit they were strong.”
That name had both bird and fish, but they were clearly fish, with no bird-like looks.
The big thing was their mouths stuck out, making long jaws.
Not like bird beaks, more like crocodile snouts.
If Trilobite were there, he’d likely say, “Hey, isn’t that just a garfish?!”
For the gods of the Endless Ether Realm and Chaos Swamp Realm, calling them the plain “Bird Fish God” actually showed respect!
These fierce gods had tough divine bodies and great magic power.
What all gods envied most was how they could cast spells in the void or ether; their strong magical power let them launch heavy, forbidden-level long-range attacks from the void.
Barbatos hired them just to have them give long-range fire support!
“Hmm?”
“Whoosh—!”
Right then, a black beam shot out of the ether.
“Hey…”
Gimmerly waved her wing membranes, using void power to easily block the magic; but the forbidden-level magical power still messed up her own magic for a bit.
“This could spell trouble for the Giant God.”
“Huh!?”
At that moment…
The Bird Fish Gods turned sharply, charging at a world on the edge of the Endless Ether.
There, mortal ships were hard at work, hauling dead gods’ bodies.
