Volume 1 Chapter 510
byChapter 510: The Authority of Judgment!
It took Murphy Yates quite a while to recover, as Lolth’s words had a shocking impact on her.
In the end, she let out a slow sigh.
"A self-controlled succubus is truly quite strange."
Murphy Yates did not mean to have any prejudice or discrimination against the succubus race.
When you say a race has a "stereotype" or that it’s true "most of the time," it is certainly discrimination.
However, when you speak about widely recognized facts, it is not the same.
Succubi do not show self-control; it is simply part of their nature.
Saying that all English people are homosexual is a form of discrimination, but stating that all English people speak English is definitely not.
Even if it is not 100% true, since England has deaf people and immigrants, saying this is surely acceptable.
Succubi indulge in their desires, just like the fact that English people speak English.
It is a well-known fact that a succubus has a tail and two horns.
This is why Murphy Yates was so shocked.
It is like meeting an old London man in Scotland who speaks a thick accent and doesn’t know English.
Everyone will be taken aback.
Lolth fully understood this, but she still expressed her dissatisfaction.
"Don’t act like I’m a weirdo," Lolth protested, then stood up. "And if the negotiation breaks down… I don’t think we need to talk anymore."
Lolth tried to bring the conversation back to the main topic.
That is…
The matter of the half-plane ruins.
The Rod of Eden was still in her hand, but the faint Holy Light power steadily growing on it showed that Lolth could not transform again in a short time.
Although the Rod of Eden had restored all her vitality and magic, the magic cube was mostly destroyed and not repaired, making it very difficult to use the Three Inch Divine Kingdom again.
The ability Lolth had shown before, which could compete with divine beings, seemed to have completely disappeared.
Even in terms of levels, Murphy Yates’s Origin Clone was definitely stronger than the revived projection.
Even if Lolth still had her hidden cards, she lacked confidence that she could hurt Murphy Yates’s Origin Clone.
However, she still made plans to prepare for battle.
But, to Lolth’s surprise…
Murphy Yates seemed quite calm, still sitting in her chair.
"No, the deal just fell through," she said, looking up at Lolth, "the negotiation hasn’t broken down, Sister Lolthlinda."
As she said this, she gently tapped the table again.
In the quietness of the air, the Gate of Hell suddenly made a snapping sound, and the flames grew swiftly with the sound of the wind.
Where the flames passed, the space seemed to transform into a tangible, translucent shape, appearing like scattered, crystal-like cubes.
Behind the translucent spatial structure, another realm seemed to manifest.
It was a landscape both distinct from and somewhat akin to the abyss.
The sky was a somber, dark red; the earth below was cracked and charred, with rivers of lava flowing and air thick with sulfurous vapors. Sharp shards of rock and crystals were scattered everywhere, amidst swirling black vortices and spontaneous bursts of flame and explosions.
Upon the lava and the scorched earth, towering, half-naked crimson demons roamed. Some bore eerie compound eyes, others had the hooves and horns of goats, and some were humanoid with serpent tails, their hair a mass of writhing, patterned venomous snakes.
At the far end of this desolate land stood a high cliff, jutting into the air, where five grand thrones of hellish rock and obsidian were arranged in a semicircle. Four of these thrones were vacant, but the central one was occupied by a statue-like female demon.
She was clad in a black robe adorned with red patterns, gripping a coiled thorned whip in one hand and a massive, heavy tome of laws in the other.
Lolth recognized her immediately.
"Is this… your true form?"
She inquired softly.
"Indeed, as you can see… this is the judgment hall of hell, where the fate of all guilty denizens is decided,"
Murphy Yates replied with a lazy tone.
"Hell has no laws, so it falls upon me to determine guilt or innocence. I decide whether they should be imprisoned, exiled, or… meet their end."
With a wave of her hand, the scene beyond the spatial barrier shifted once more, as if they had entered a prison.
The ground was pitch black, with no sky visible; only the glow of flowing lava illuminated the space that unfolded before them.
Massive metal cages dotted the landscape, each containing demons bound by chains that glowed a fiery red.
A few cages stood empty, and some bore the marks of violent destruction.
Yet, the demons that were imprisoned remained eerily calm, sitting or standing as still as if frozen in time.
Only the occasional slight movement of a demon reminded Lolth that these were not mere statues or static images.
"Wow…"
Lolth murmured, her voice devoid of emotion.
Though the Dimensional Barrier prevented her from sensing the extraordinary energies of the imprisoned demons, their mere presence told Lolth…
Each of these demons was formidable in their own right.
"So, what is your purpose in showing me this?"
She turned to Murphy Yates and asked softly.
"This is another form of negotiation, beyond mere ‘trade,’" Murphy Yates stated calmly. "When ‘bribery’ fails, one must resort to ‘intimidation,’ Miss Lolthlinda."
As she spoke, she rose from her seat.
The table, chairs, and tea set vanished into thin air.
In that instant, the barrier that separated the two realms seemed to weaken momentarily!
Though still formidable, Murphy Yates had slightly diminished the Dimensional Barrier.
This was enough to shock Lolth, her pupils contracting sharply.
This meant… the Dimensional Barrier was not an insurmountable obstacle for her.
Beyond the barrier, the imprisoned demons, each guilty of their own crimes, suddenly opened their eyes, revealing burning orbs of crimson and bright yellow, all fixed intently on the scene before them.
The chains on their bodies clattered noisily.
"Damn it…"
Lolth observed the scene, her gaze shifting to Murphy Yates, whose face still bore a faint smile.
"Don’t worry, for the reasons I mentioned earlier, I still won’t harm you."
Murphy Yates spoke softly, taking a gentle step forward, closing the distance to Lolth.
As Lolth was about to speak, a single finger pressed against her lips.
The warmth of the fingertip met the softness of her lips, and beyond it, Murphy Yates’s fiery red eyes, glowing with an unwavering smile, gazed back.
"But I want you to know, as one of the Lords of Hell, I do not fear even your Demon King."
"In both status and power, I am his equal."
"So, if you obstruct me from claiming this Ailuo race’s half-plane, I will be very displeased."
"I am a capricious ruler, a cruel tyrant, and one who revels in grandiosity."
"When I am angered… I desire to destroy."
"I cannot kill you… but surely, there are things you hold dear, aren’t there?"
Murphy Yates spoke these words, her eyes locking onto Lolth’s.
Through her eyes, Lolth momentarily glimpsed a vision.
Hillenbrand Town engulfed in flames, the Hell Demon God rampaging over the ruins, the tranquil main plane town transformed into a living hell…
The girls she knew intimately, her disciples, her friends, all grievously wounded or teetering on the brink of death.
Isabella, Tina, Kanor, Dorothy…
Each figure that passed before her eyes made Lolth’s heart ache more intensely.
Though she knew it was merely an "illusion"…
It felt, inexplicably, like an inevitable future.
"If I refuse her, all this will come to pass"—such a thought took root in Lolth’s heart.
She even saw herself, lost and in agony, kneeling amidst the ruins, silently weeping.
This was the threat from the Lord of Hell, Murphy Yates…
After the vision had persisted for an unknown duration, Murphy Yates’s voice suddenly resounded once more.
"So—what do you say, Miss Lolthlinda?"
She inquired playfully, lifting her finger as though nothing had transpired.
Yet, Lolth, standing opposite her, felt as though all her strength had been drained, and she crumpled to the ground.
Beads of cold sweat trickled down her forehead, and a weight like a thousand stones pressed upon her chest, making each breath a struggle.
She couldn’t discern whether this was the effect of a mental spell or something else…
But she was certain that what she had just witnessed was far more horrifying than the minor trials presided over by Five Colors.
In a way, her Courage Trial had been interrupted by Xiletor, but perhaps this was the scene she least wanted to witness?
Five Colors was merely a test, using her own "perception" to construct a scene of fear.
Thus, before Murphy Yates cruelly unveiled these horrors, Lolth had never imagined she might face such a scenario.
This was a fear that surpassed Lolth’s wildest imaginations.
She was so overwhelmed that she couldn’t even ponder why Xiletor, her supposed "safeguard" within her soul, had not appeared during this mental onslaught that clearly exceeded her "threshold" and capacity to endure!
Now, Lolth had lost nearly all her ability to think.
"Agree to my terms! Unless—you wish to personally cause the demise of everyone!"
Murphy Yates abruptly ceased her smile and spoke in a commanding tone, full of authority.
Her voice was stern and grave, akin to a verdict being declared!
It was at this moment that she revealed her true nature as the Lord of Hell, wielding the power of judgment!
Her words seemed to materialize, pressing down heavily on the already overwhelmed Lolth, forcing her to kneel in agony, clutching her head.
Meanwhile, beyond the dimensions, in the crevices between realms unseen by Lolth, a dark green streak of light and a small, fiery figure appeared almost simultaneously, manifesting as the Demon King and Kululu.
They exchanged a glance, their faces showing surprise, but without further discussion, they both turned their gaze towards the half-plane space before them.
This was the half-plane space where Lolth was situated.
Through the Dimensional Barrier, they could see Murphy Yates and Lolth inside, and they noticed the gates of hell wide open.
"Damn hell demon."
The Demon King’s face was icy, the mist in her eyes swirling, ready to descend into the half-plane.
"Murphy Yates, she really thinks she’s capable!"
Kululu’s voice was laced with anger, as if she was about to summon something from the void.
However, at that moment, two soft, pale hands suddenly rested on their shoulders.
"Don’t rush, dear current Lord of the Demon King, and my lovely sweetheart Kululu."
"Let’s observe a bit longer… It’s not yet the time to ‘act decisively’!"
A cheerful voice chimed in, startling both Kululu and the Demon King.
"Is it you?!"
They exclaimed in unison, turning their heads in surprise to see behind them.
Soon after, both of them showed a look of relief.
"So, are you certain everything is fine?"
The Demon King looked at the figure that had appeared, slightly furrowing her brow as she spoke.
"Don’t worry, don’t worry, don’t worry, I would never jest about her safety. I know very well how cunning that Murphy Yates is, presiding over ‘Judgment’ yet slippery as an eel. She knows you would definitely come, so she wouldn’t dare do anything serious."
The figure spoke nonchalantly, with a somewhat casual tone.
"Even if you hadn’t come, she wouldn’t dare act recklessly… After all, if she truly ‘crossed the line’… that would provide me with a perfect ‘motive and reason’…"
As he said this, the figure shook his head and revealed a smile.
"Besides, don’t underestimate Lolth—Murphy Yates thinks she can sway her with this level of threat and temptation, but she will regret it!"
Kululu and the Demon King nodded slightly upon hearing each other’s words.
"That’s true… after all, it is Dear Lolth."
"Exactly, Little Lolth managed to resolve the ‘resurrection’ projection by herself… what else is impossible?"
The two who had rushed over, after listening to the persuasion, suddenly became a bit calmer.
The three outside the dimension continued to look towards the inside of the Ruins of Sandhalf-plane together.
At that moment, Lolth had completely knelt down.
She held her head, with Murphy Yates’s voice echoing in her mind.
It was as if an entire dimension was shouting at her.
"Submit! Submit! Submit!"
This transcended any form of mental magic and suggestion; even the purest Star Spirit power could not match the ‘brainwashing’ voice that Lolth faced now.
Because this was the manifestation of power and authority.
Murphy Yates, who holds the "Judgment," speaks words that are the most effective law in a lawless hell!
Therefore, her words naturally carry the attribute of being "irresistible!"
