Chapter 379: •᷄ࡇ•᷅

Huh?

Me? What does this have to do with me?

Oh, right—clothes made from Snow Silkworm silk should include my share…?!

Wait, does that mean I have to wear a maid outfit too?

Ugh, how irritating… The thought of wearing something both cute and mortifying…

Though, if I’m being honest, I’m somewhat curious.

I’ve wondered how I’d look in a maid outfit these days, though my past-life wardrobe certainly never included such garments.

Wearing it at home would be one thing, but imagining parading around in public… Ugh, the stares would be unbearable! Just the thought makes my cheeks burn.

Then again, this world actually has real maids. Those merchants and nobles in Aowenduo Town kept them in their estates, and Simon’s sprawling mansion naturally employs plenty as the town’s lord.

Occasionally I’ve spotted maids shopping at markets too. Some passersby glance curiously, but most seem utterly unfazed.

Ah, I’m getting sidetracked.

Anyway… The question is what color maid outfit I want?

“Let Little Pupil decide.”

Whatever. I’ll look fabulous in any color—that’s non-negotiable!

Though if we’re talking classic maid outfits, nothing beats the traditional black-and-white combo…

After finalizing the Snow Silkworm designs, we moved on to measurements.

The trembling hands of the excitable (or perhaps nervous) seamstress prolonged the fitting session considerably.

Once measurements concluded, the Class A daughters began rotating shifts to assist Encore with crafting the outfits.

Thus, the tailor took up temporary residence at Foggy Castle.

The next morning…

To monitor Orna’s Dead Spirit transformation, Lin Yu departed Foggy Castle with Ji Qiao astride her golden-furred steed, heading toward the Dragon Cave housing the Eleventh Ant Nest.

For security, a formidable daughter accompanied them this time.

Lin Yu glanced downward at her shadow.

“What’s the matter?”

Without warning, a stone-faced woman with cropped gray hair emerged from the darkness between the rider’s legs.

“Gah!”

Darkling Stalker’s abrupt materialization nearly made Lin Yu crush the ant cradled in her palm.

“Woof?”

The golden-furred mount halted abruptly, issuing a confused yelp.

“It’s okay, you keep going.”

The white-haired girl patted the wolf’s back, prompting Blondie to let out another complaining howl before resuming its sprint.

Lin Yu, now slightly irritated, reached out to pinch the cheek of her gray-haired daughter emerging from the shadows.

“Why did Little Shadow pop out so suddenly? You startled me!”

“Did Mother forget?”

The gray-haired daughter’s monotone voice echoed as a pale hand shot from the shadows to seize the mischievous fingers tampering with her face.

“Magic Rainbow had her turn the day before yesterday. Today belongs to your daughter.”

“That doesn’t excuse scaring me!”

“I simply couldn’t resist seeing Mother’s face.”

After uttering these lover-like words without hesitation, Darkling Stalker began shifting within the shadows.

*Don’t… We’re on Blondie’s back, and… Little Qiao is here too.*

Lin Yu’s breath hitched momentarily before she blushed and mentally chastised her daughter.

She glanced at her palm, where Ji Qiao remained curled into a trembling ball, evidently shaken by Darkling Stalker’s abrupt appearance.

*If we’re careful…*

*Absolutely not!*

The girl’s tone softened immediately after her sharp refusal.

*The villa should be completed today. Let’s wait until tonight… We can… then. Not now, please? Promise?*

*She’s coaxing again… Has she mastered this art or simply grown accustomed to it?*

Lin Yu’s cheeks flushed deeper.

Yet the tactic proved devastatingly effective—Darkling Stalker’s shadows retreated instantly.

Even she couldn’t withstand the white-haired maiden’s pleading.

*Such methods work wonders. If used on the others, even the most rebellious daughters would yield.* Lin Yu mused unconsciously before frowning at her own thoughts.

Just as she relaxed, Darkling Stalker’s psychic whisper pierced her mind anew:

*Did Mother… do* that *with Magic Rainbow two days ago?*

*That? What? I-I don’t understand!*

*Mother knows precisely what I mean.*

*N-no! Nothing like that happened…*

Seeing no reason for secrecy, Lin Yu confessed with burning ears.

Regarding Darkling Stalker—after returning to the castle, she’d initially resisted intimacy with this particular daughter. But as midnight hours stretched on, memories of their month-long entanglement resurfaced relentlessly.

Compounded by her other daughters’ overt and covert advances…

She’d eventually succumbed, summoning Darkling Stalker during a solitary bathhouse soak. Choosing her first companion proved simpler due to their shared history, easing both the invitation and her conscience.

As for the others…

Though aware of their rotating attempts at closeness these past days, Lin Yu couldn’t take that initial step. Once begun, there would be second and third instances—first one daughter, then others following.

Guilt over initiating with Little Shadow already weighed heavily. Pursuing more felt impossible… both morally and physically.

Darkling Stalker fell silent after this response.

The white-haired girl didn’t probe her daughter’s thoughts, grateful for the quiet respite from potentially scandalous remarks.

Soon Blondie carried them to the dragon cave’s entrance.

Lin Yu barely registered the cavern’s staggering dimensions, her attention captured by the nearby villa. Even their lupine mount stared dumbfounded at the structure.

From its facade and scale to the enclosing wrought-iron gates, transplanted courtyard trees, and meticulously arranged turf—every detail mirrored the suburban homes of Lin Yu’s past life.

Magic Rainbow had mentioned this architectural marvel owed its swift, flawless completion to Darkling Stalker’s contributions.
