Chapter 84: The End
How absurd! They schemed endlessly, only to attack a mere disguise. Not only did they fail to harm him—they went blind just from looking at him.
“Hahaha!! I alone am heaven’s chosen! All traitors shall perish!”
The Emperor of Chu had gone mad.
He’d styled himself ruler of the world, yet now faced the true heavens—or the Creator beyond heaven itself. How laughable that mere ants like them dared plot against such a being.
“Why?!”
“Why is he still this strong?!”
Black Shadow and Huang clawed their way from the rubble. Both wielded the same rules as Taichu Immortal Ancestor, yet he dwarfed their power. Was this the advantage of being the first Ancestor?
“Heaven is unjust!!”
Black Shadow’s roar echoed. They’d scheged across epochs since the Ancient Era—only to meet this end.
“Heaven?”
Zuo Meng gazed at the two ancient beings, pity flickering in his eyes. This was why he’d sealed them. Emperor of Chu and Demon Monk Jie Ming had discerned his true nature instantly, yet these ancient fools—who’d basked in the world’s primal blessings—remained clueless.
“In this world, I’ve never had enemies.
Not you. Not any living thing.”
Zuo Meng began his Ascension. The Pressure of the Creator rippled across the Entire World.
The ground quaked. Spirits tore free from humans, guarding monsters, even plants—all who’d practiced Zuo Meng’s cultivation methods. As countless spirits merged with him, his very being transcended, gaining a profundity beyond ordinary people’s grasp.
The two Ancient Deities lay crushed against the earth, unable to lift their heads.
All their eons of planning led only to despair.
“I refuse!!”
Zhao Zheng’s final roar rang out before he collapsed. A massive spirit burst from his body. Nearby, the gravely wounded Chess Sage Du Fan also fell, his spirit soaring toward Zuo Meng.
Emperor of Chu. Great Chu. Border Wasteland…
Color drained from the world.
Only that towering figure remained, sole sovereign of the heavens.
*Hummm!*
The world exulted. Rules twisted and surged, hastened by Zuo Meng’s will.
His power spread unceasingly.
The sealed low martial world, reshaped by shifting laws, regained its high-energy nature.
“The world evolves.”
At the center, Zuo Meng’s form grew more ethereal. White radiance haloed him like a celestial saint. Divine music resounded as petals rained down. Having absorbed most spirits, he’d become the world’s core—countless threads of karma and law swirling about him.
Origin of all things. Primordial infinity.
This transformation wasn’t limited to the Dream World alone. After awakening, Zuo Meng himself underwent world-altering changes.
The blazing sun hung overhead.
The ground, now devoid of spirits, began to approach its end.
Time became immeasurable until the final upheaval of laws gradually ceased. Nine-tenths of all living beings had perished, leaving only ordinary people behind. Though the world lingered for a while longer, its days were numbered. Without Immortal Cultivators, mortal lives lasted mere decades. With no new births, the world was destined for silence.
“Uncle Xue?”
Zhi Hua stared at the unfamiliar figure before her, her mind reeling.
Zhi Xin’er and her brother Zhi Mo stood nearby, speechless. The day’s events had shattered their understanding of reality.
Zuo Meng no longer regarded them.
His attention shifted to Huang and Black Shadow as countless strands of natural law fell like a net around them.
“I’ll die first!”
Feeling Zuo Meng’s gaze, Huang roared and channeled his energy to self-destruct. Black Shadow dissolved into streams of black water, attempting to escape through the earth. But under Zuo Meng’s watch, both rebellion and retreat froze mid-action.
“Pointless.”
Zuo Meng lifted his hand.
The surrounding laws instantly stripped Huang and Black Shadow of their powers, reducing them to ordinary men.
“Return to stone.”
The web of laws condensed into a single point, sealing both Ancient Deities back into dark stones. These once-terrifying beings who’d crushed Great Chu’s imperial city now resembled insects before Zuo Meng – powerless even to end themselves.
“Who are you really?”
Zhi Hua’s bitter question hung in the air.
“You know already.”
“I understand now.”
Relief washed over Zhi Hua’s features as she exhaled.
Zuo Meng touched her forehead gently, mirroring a gesture from their shared past.
Hummm!
Emerald light engulfed Zhi Hua and her children. Three spirits separated from their bodies, which collapsed lifelessly.
With his final task complete, Zuo Meng released his restrained divinity.
He ascended beyond the Material Realm, leaving the physical world behind.
Outside time’s flow – where moments spanned material centuries –
A hundred years passed below.
The dying world exhaled its last breath with the final creature’s demise.
Zuo Meng stretched his hand across the void and swept it over the Material Realm.
Boom!!!
Reality shattered into primordial darkness, energy exploding outward to form a vast black cosmos. At the expansion’s peak, Zuo Meng clenched his fist. The raging forces reversed course, collapsing into a single dark speck.
An epoch had ended.
The reborn world emerged stronger, stabilized by its cyclical rebirth.
A new epoch began.
“Begin anew.”
Zuo Meng flicked his sleeve in the void.
Countless lights – the captured spirits – streamed into the fresh world. Some lingered briefly around his sleeve before joining the rest. These spirits gained Rebirth, unlike those left behind whose deaths meant true oblivion, their essence returning to the cosmos.
A distant bell tolled through the void.
“Time to wake.”
Millennia compressed to a dream, reality’s tides ever-shifting.
